Children's Center "Artek" is located on the coast of the Black Sea,
six kilometers along the coast from the western foot of Aju-Dag
Mt. up to the settlement of Gurzuf. The ridge of the Crimean mountains
protects it from cold winds. 250 days a year the sun shines above
"Artek". Cozy bays of the coast protect the Sea from storm and pollution.
There is clean mountain air filled with aromas of centenary cypresses
and sparks of the sea. Add to this unique nature and fine gold beaches,
light buildings, stadiums, pools, trips to antique cities and mysterious
caves, nights at the camp fire with songs up to dawn and many other
things.
You think, you have got into a fairy tale? Yes
and no. Because "Artek" is a fairy tale becoming a reality, these
are light, color children's dreams without malicious heroes, where
the most desirable dreams come to life. And how about friendship,
mutual assistance? Artek-like friendship is the most devoted and
innocent.
"Artek" was founded in 1925, but it can not
grow old. Infectious children's laughter sounds here all the year
round. "Artek" gives an opportunity to millions of children to learn
the world and to feel themselves happy, talented and strong. "Artek"
is unique in everything. And especially in the attitude to a child,
based on respect of his personality, belief in his creative abilities.
Everyone can find application of the talents and acquire new knowledge
and impressions here. For this purpose the set of groups is created:
airplane-modeling, car-driving, astronomical, geological, ship-modeling,
computer, a photo-group, study of local lore. Here children can
work in sport sections: basketball, football, lawn and table tennis,
volleyball, navigation. "Artek" is a place of organizing grandiose
holidays and festivals: various cinema festivals, festivals of arts,
sports holidays and Olympiads.
Everything is in a child's power. It is possible
to aspire to beat the records in the excellent stadium or to engage
in navigation in open fifty-meter pool with warmed sea water, to
became the captain and to take part in a regatta, to make fascinating
mountain ascensions and to go down into mysterious caves. All children
who have arrived in "Artek" pass full medical survey, and if necessary,
treating work will be carried out. Increase of the level of children's
health is promoted also by specially developed mode of day, providing
correct proportioning of physical and emotional loading.

Parents should not worry. Skilled experts: teachers,
psychologists, doctors, cooks, trainers do their best that the children
remember the time spent in "Artek" for a long time.
